Obesity is a big problem which invites many diseases. This is a disorder in which people get excessive body fat which increases the risk of health problems. In this world more than 2.3 billion children and adults are living with overweight and obesity.

The following are some major causes of obesity,

Eating too much

Obesity can mainly be caused by eating too much, mostly by eating more calories from food items such as junk foods, sweets and cool drinks.

The recommended daily value of calories is 2000 calories a day for women and 2500 for men. When you take in more calories by eating too much food then these extra calories are useless and they get converted as body fat.

Like this our body fat increases when we eat too much food and this causes us to become overweight. If you don't take care about this and if you still continue taking in more calories by eating too much then you get obese.

Foods which are processed or fast foods are the unhealthy foods which cause obesity. So eat healthy items and don't eat too much.

Lack of exercise

This is the common cause for almost all diseases. Without doing any physical activity your body fat increases which cause obesity.

So please do regular exercise, if you can't do exercise then at least do walking or running for 20 to 30 minutes a day. Because physical activities burn calories which make us healthy and fit.

Drinking too much alcohol

Alcohol contains more calories. Drinking alcohol is unhealthy which causes many health problems.

So avoid drinking alcohol and stay healthy.


If your parents have obesity then you may also have obesity. If your parents' appetite is large then you will also get a large appetite. But if you do regular exercise then you will become fit.

Also the risk of heart diseases such as cardiovascular disease (CVD), heart failure (HF) and coronary heart disease (CHD) will increase. So be fit and stay healthy.


Obesity increases risk of getting a stroke by inflammation and poor blood flow. Inflammation can be caused by the excess of fat which is in our body due to obesity. And with this excess fat our blood flow also can be poor.

Inflammation and poor blood flow are the two major causes of stroke.


In a person of obesity the hormones, amount of NEFA and other some substances which develop the insulin resistance are increased. If insulin resistance increases then that person will get diabetes. Obesity can cause diabetes type 2 which is one of the dangerous diseases.


As you have read, extra fat can cause inflammation. Inflammation is the main cause of Cancer. Overweight and obesity are the biggest causes of cancer. So start doing regular exercise if you are obese and become healthy.
